The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) fosters part-time training opportunities in community service activities with unemployed low-income persons who are 55 years or older who have poor employment prospects.
SCSEP also fosters individual economic self sufficiency and increases the number of older persons who may enjoy the beneifts of unsubsidized employment.
Participants receive a training wage of $7.25 an hour for up to 20 hours of community service assignments. Typical training positions include: clerical, computer, housekeeping, dietary aid, maintenance, home repair social service, and custodial. Factors used in determining eligibility for SCSEP are: - AGE: Must be 55 years old or older.
- ANNUAL INCOME* (125% of federal poverty guidelines)
For a household of one:income less than $13,538 For a household of two: income less than $18,213 (For each additional person, add $4,675) - RESIDENCE: Must reside in the state of Arizona upon enrollment.
- EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Must be unemployed upon enrollment and eligible to work.
